History of Waltham Chase Methodist Church

Original Chapel

Waltham Chase Methodist Church is part of the Meon Valley Methodist Circuit which was formerly the Droxford Primitive Methodist Circuit formed in 1892. Waltham Chase (Primitive Methodist) was established in 1870. The original chapel building dates back to 1869. [1]

An extension was added to the original chapel in 1980 to provide a kitchen area and additional room as the Church has been growing rapidly as new houses were build in Waltham Chase. [3]

The Church was extended again in 1997 to provide the large, comfortable and modern worship centre that we see today.

In 2003 the Church ran its own radio station, Chase FM, for 5 days. Alongside the station, a Victorian Harvest weekend was held with period costumes, games and food. The station returned again in 2004 to celebrate a local food festival [2]
