Why should I give?

There is a real freedom that comes from stepping aside from today's pursuit of wealth. The Bible says,

"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
(Proverbs 11: 24,25)

"You cannot serve both God and Money."
(Matthew 6:24)

When you give freely and joyfully to the Lord, you demonstrate that money has lost its hold over you.

How much should I give?  

That ultimately is between yourself and God. The Bible talks about tithing, that is giving ten per cent of your income to the work of God, and also about additional free will giving. One answer to "how much should I give?" is "how much do you want to be blessed?"

How should I give?

Some people find regular monthly donations work well for them. Others prefer to give what they can each week. It makes sense, if you can, to take advantage of tax breaks available through Gift Aid.
