Good news for adults with learning disabilities

Friendship, refreshments, worship, trips out, holiday breaks! These are some of the features of the Causeway Prospects group affiliated to Waltham Chase Methodist Church. There are over 170 Causeway Prospects groups around the country, which provide an opportunity for adults with learning disabilities to find out more about Jesus and the Christian faith, and at the same time make new friends and contacts and enjoy a range of activities.

Our group started in 2000 and currently numbers about twenty. We meet on the second Thursday of the month from 7.30 to 9pm. Our regular meetings are in the Methodist Church Worship Centre on Curdridge Lane. We have 'coffee time' and then move into a time of worship, interactive bible teaching and prayer. We include some social evenings where we might have music and games in the basement, go out to a pub or have a BBQ. We also get along to lively intergroup celebrations around the local area. Some of us have been on Causeway residential weekends, as well as the annual Causeway summer holiday week in the Vendee region of France!
